A note from Nikki

I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you

Planting Good Seeds.org ran out of love

So, for now, we're putting it back in the soil.

Planting Good Seeds began with Nikki and a small group of people in Taganga, Colombia, who shared a dream: to create a Casa de Recursos — a place where discarded and recycled materials could be collected, transformed, and given another life.

Over the past few decades, Taganga has changed enormously. Tourism has brought opportunity, but also pressure on a small town and the land and sea surrounding it.

We wanted to plant something here.

We still do.

Today just isn't the day we're able to give this project the love, time, and resources it deserves. So rather than pretend otherwise, Planting Good Seeds is on hold while we rethink how it can grow sustainably.

Maybe one day, with the right people and enough love, we'll come back and plant some good seeds in this little town.

Until then, the dream is still here.

— Nikki

Sustainable Artist Fellow
Remote and/or On the Ground

Sustainable Artist Fellow

Transform overlooked materials into meaningful artwork — while building your global creative network.

Welcome, Artist!

This fellowship is designed for emerging sustainable artists, makers, designers, recyclers, muralists, installation artists, and creatively driven people interested in transforming overlooked materials into meaningful artwork while participating in a growing international creative movement.

Planting Good Seeds is building a global ecosystem rooted in sustainability, creativity, entrepreneurship, cultural exchange, and community connection. Sustainable Artist Fellows help explore how art can restore value — not only to discarded materials, but also to communities, environments, and human relationships.

This is not a traditional residency program. It is a collaborative creative experience designed to help artists strengthen their voice, entrepreneurial confidence, artistic identity, and global network while contributing to meaningful community-centered projects.

"Art is not separate from impact — it IS the impact."

You Will Walk Away With

  • Opportunities to showcase your sustainable artwork within an international creative network

The Journey

1

Phase One — Remote Onboarding (1–2 Months)

Community-Backed Support Campaign

During onboarding, fellows begin developing stronger entrepreneurial, communication, and networking skills through collaborative preparation, storytelling exercises, and relationship-building. Participants are encouraged to raise support for their learning journey while strengthening their confidence in presenting themselves, their artistic interests, and their long-term creative goals. Throughout this phase, fellows receive collaborative guidance and support while preparing for deeper integration into the movement.

2

Phase Two — Sustainable Art, Creative Research & Community Collaboration

Remote or On the Ground

Once the on-the-ground team arrives in the Caribbean, Sustainable Artist Fellows continue participating remotely or in person through collaborative creative projects, documentation, storytelling, and artistic experimentation inspired by the community and environment around them. Fellows attend the daily 5:00 PM Sharing Circle meetings, helping process observations, creative discoveries, emotional experiences, and emerging opportunities connected to the movement.

3

Phase Three — Alumni Network & Lifelong Community

Remote

The fellowship doesn't end after four weeks. Fellows become part of the growing Planting Good Seeds alumni network, gaining access to future collaborations, mentorship, fundraising opportunities, creative projects, and entrepreneurial ventures as they emerge. The people you meet here may become future business partners, collaborators, clients, mentors, investors, or lifelong friends. The goal isn't simply to complete a fellowship. It's to join a community designed to help ambitious people create more opportunity for one another long after the experience ends.
