A note from Nikki

I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you

Planting Good Seeds.org ran out of love

So, for now, we're putting it back in the soil.

Planting Good Seeds began with Nikki and a small group of people in Taganga, Colombia, who shared a dream: to create a Casa de Recursos — a place where discarded and recycled materials could be collected, transformed, and given another life.

Over the past few decades, Taganga has changed enormously. Tourism has brought opportunity, but also pressure on a small town and the land and sea surrounding it.

We wanted to plant something here.

We still do.

Today just isn't the day we're able to give this project the love, time, and resources it deserves. So rather than pretend otherwise, Planting Good Seeds is on hold while we rethink how it can grow sustainably.

Maybe one day, with the right people and enough love, we'll come back and plant some good seeds in this little town.

Until then, the dream is still here.

— Nikki

Cultural Exchange Fellow
Remote and/or On the Ground

Cultural Exchange Fellow

Bridge cultures, build genuine human connection, and grow as a globally aware communicator.

Welcome, Language Artist!

This fellowship is designed for curious, open-minded, socially intelligent people interested in language, culture, community, creativity, global connection, and personal growth through meaningful human experiences.

Planting Good Seeds is building a global movement rooted in cultural exchange, entrepreneurship, creativity, storytelling, and community connection. Cultural Exchange Fellows help strengthen the relationships, conversations, and shared experiences that allow people from different backgrounds to genuinely learn from one another.

This is not a traditional study abroad or travel experience. It is a collaborative fellowship designed to help participants become more confident communicators, stronger relationship-builders, and more globally aware individuals while participating in a growing international creative network.

"The most powerful bridge between cultures is a person who truly belongs to both."

You Will Walk Away With

  • Opportunities to build meaningful international relationships
  • Greater confidence communicating across cultures and backgrounds

The Journey

1

Phase One — Remote Onboarding (1–2 Months)

Community-Backed Support Campaign

During onboarding, fellows begin developing stronger communication, networking, and relationship-building skills through collaborative preparation, group discussions, storytelling exercises, and cultural exchange activities. Participants are encouraged to raise support for their learning journey while developing confidence in presenting themselves, connecting with others, and navigating unfamiliar environments and perspectives.

2

Phase Two — Cultural Exchange, Community Connection & Global Collaboration

Remote or On the Ground

Once the on-the-ground team arrives in the Caribbean, Cultural Exchange Fellows continue participating remotely or in person through collaborative discussions, storytelling, language exchange, relationship-building, creative projects, and ongoing community engagement. Fellows attend the daily 5:00 PM Sharing Circle meetings.

3

Phase Three — Alumni Network & Lifelong Community

Remote

The fellowship doesn't end after four weeks. Fellows become part of the growing Planting Good Seeds alumni network, gaining access to future collaborations, mentorship, fundraising opportunities, creative projects, and entrepreneurial ventures as they emerge. The people you meet here may become future business partners, collaborators, clients, mentors, investors, or lifelong friends.
